Don McLean on Top of the Pops, October 31st 1991

Don McLean's 'American Pie' was back in the UK top-10 prompting an appearance on BBC television's  'Top of the Pops'. Don with the Jamie Marshall Band gave one of the best performances of 'American Pie' ever heard. Click here to hear and see Don's performance!

Dear mr. McLean, I am 47 years old and sign american pie probably every other day. I remember Vincent also and I doubt you have any Idea what your response to the school kids at Larry miller Intermediate. hearing my generation sing, hum and tap to both vincent and american pie is so darn cool. I have a grand daughter that is 20 months old, sammi, that dances to vincent, and American pie and when grover thanks for taking the time to write the kids at larry Miller and thanks from a life long fan that was down but you lifted up by being the human being i always thought you were. I am a certified Don Mclean fan but it is only now that I encountered (and had time) to encounter his website. Am truly mesmerized with his poetry. I think Don is one of the most sensible musicians/poets of all times.
